Becas Rafael Carrión, Jr. Program

This program is the vision made reality of an outstanding man and banker. The Fund was created to financially support the children of Popular employees and retirees in their college careers. It was established in 1992 with the totality of the money that Carrión Jr. accumulated in his Deferred Compensation plan and his savings from the Banco Popular de Puerto Rico Employees' Credit Union. Carrión, Jr.’s children made the donations for this purpose after his death on December 31, 1991.

Premio a la Excelencia Académica Rafael Carrión, Jr.

The Premio a la Excelencia Académica Rafael Carrión, Jr. was created more than 15 years ago to recognize, reward, and encourage outstanding young people's academic success. This award recognizes the educational performance of students who have completed their senior year of high school and who also achieved the top scores on the College Admissions and Assessment Test and passed two or more Advanced Placement Program tests. To grant this award, Fundación Banco Popular is advised by the Puerto Rico and Latin America office of the College Board, the entity in charge of providing these tests.
