Since 1982, the Social Investment Program has been our primary vehicle for supporting community impact programs driven by Puerto Rican non-profit organizations through an annual grant.

Eligible Organizations

Grant applications will be considered for entities that meet the following requirements:

  • Be a non-profit entity duly incorporated under the Department of State of Puerto Rico or be a public entity qualified by law to receive donations
  • Be an entity with programs consistent with one of the areas of focus of Fundación Banco Popular
  • Demonstrate ability to measure outcomes
  • Have a Popular liaison employee actively involved in the organization
  • Have comparative audited financial statements for the last two fiscal years

Our proposal evaluation process is based solely on the program’s merits and the alignment with our objectives. For that reason, we focus our resources on areas where we can make a significant impact, following our mission.

The Foundation receives proposals in two annual application cycles. The dates for submitting proposals are as follows:

  • 15 March - 15 April
  • 15 July - 15 August
